10 Rules of making Decisions - Bhagwat Gita

Friends sometime We all need to take decision in our life. These decisions give direction to our life.
Right decisions take us to Earth to sky and wrong decisions we take from the sky to the earth.
Lord Krishna has given tips to take decision in Bhagwat gita. Maybe some people consider Bhagwat Geeta as a religious book, But the truth is that Bhagwat Geeta is a book that can give your life the right direction. I will share tips of making decisions that will be helpful to take decisions. These sayings that were told 5000 years ago are equally true today. So let's start friends.

Lesson 1.  Feeling are temporary. Never take decision on the basis of your feelings.
Friends now I want to ask a question, One thing is making you feel good and the other is feeling bad.
what will choose you ?
I know most people will choose the option that is feeling good.
In Bhagwat gita Arjun didn't want to fight in war because He was fearing to lose his cousin and teacher in war, but Shree krishna shown the path of fighting in war.
We shouldn't take decision on the basis of feeling because feeling is temporary.
This is the first lesson, Feelings are temporary, never take decision on the basis of your feelings.
Now let's see in modern words, watching movie is making good feel to a student but study is not making him feel good.
That's why Ignore feeling. It's not compulsory that a decision which is making you feel good that will be Right.
In the sixth chapter of Bhagwat gita, shree Krishna says we should keep balance our mind, therefore don't take any decision when you are more Happy or more sad.
That decision which is taken with more Happiness or more sadness will be wrong always.

Lesson 2Avoid decision when in extreme Emotion.
You will have noticed that when people are so happy, you ask them anything they will give you but when people are in extreme emotion, you ask something they get angry.
That's why avoid any decision when you are in extreme emotion.

Lesson 3.  Ask yourself. "Am I taking this decision in Anger or Attachments ?"
A book Seven Habits of Highly Effective People was published. That was a best selling book. In that book first habit was Be Proactive of highly effective people and It's  stated in bhagwat gita 5000 year ago.
That's why think before taking any decision that am I taking decision in anger or attachments. There have to regret on that decisions which are taken in anger or attachments.

Lesson 4.  Am I focusing only on the result ?
If you read the Bhagwat gita so there was a word 'Niskam karma' has been repeated many times. 'Niskam karma' means do your work and don't worry about result. Most of the time It has been seen that we focus always on our result and forget that we have to do work for good result but we waste our time to think about result. For example A person who want to loose his wait and most of the time He think always about his wait but He has to understand that for loosing wait He will have to do exercise (work), He will have to focus on exercise not result.

Lesson 5.  Whatever is done without faith is useless.
This is the 28th shloka of chapter 17th in Bhagwat gita. This sentence refer that think before taking decision that what decision you are about to take, is that right ?, Can you believe strongly ?
Believe or faith are pillar of your decision, without believe and Faith your decision is useless and after a sometimes you will be not able to continue your decision. That's why take realistic decision and believe yourself and God.

Lesson 6.  Keep your Goal High.
There is 21st shalok of chapter 3rd in bhagwat gita.
Whatever action a great man perform, common men follow.
Most of people follow shree krishna. May be you are the one because shree krishna's Goals are always greater than a human that,s why all world follow and worship him.
So before taking any decision, first think what ever decision you are going to take, is It not lower decision ? Which I can achieve easly.
Take any decision with high thinking and high goal. That is the sixth lesson keep your goal high.

Lesson 7What is good for the society is good for you.
If you think a decision what you about to take is good for you but it's harmful for society then you shouldn't take that decision.
This is the 7th lesson, what is good for the society is good for you.

Lesson 8.  Trust in the Lord.
In the 5th chapter of bhagwat gita shree krishna says a person who believe in God is always happy.
So believe in God when you take decision and be thankful.

Lesson 9.  Right counseling can lead better decision.
In bhagwat gita, Arjun is also intelligent yet He discuss his problem with his friend lord krishna. You don't keep your problem in your heart, you should discuss your problem with a intelligent person. A student can discuss his problem with his parents, teacher or friends.

Lesson 10.  Read bhagwat gita.
Sometimes you will get answers your questions to thumb through.
But a person who read bhagwat gita can understand easily this lesson.
